FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
I am a Vegetarian, however, I am reminded of the old adage of Waste not Want not. In the Native American culture, when they killed a buffalo for food, they used all of the animals parts out of respect and being grateful to the animal that the Great White Spirit provided them for their survival.
Until you go to Africa and see how the drought kills people and animals you will never understand how lucky you are to live in a country where water is abused and runs freely. Try living in a community where water only runs one day a week for a few hours.
Please Save and Respect our Water...
Did you know that if you leave your hose running while you wash your car 18 gallons of water per minute run into the gutter?
My husband grew up carrying 5-gallon buckets of water to the family every morning before school and everyday after school. They took a bath out of a bucket to conserve water. They never waste water, water is a very precious commodity in Africa. Here we let water run while we wash our hands, our hair, and our bodies. Since my trip to Africa, I have learned a new respect for water. Even though it flows plentiful out of the tap, one day we may turn on the tap and nothing will come out. We recycle our water as much as possible. My husband and I both bath out of a 5 gal bucket. At the end I rinse my hair and body one final time. While waiting for hot water, rinsing dishes, anytime water is flowing from the tap. I fill up buckets I keep near the sink and pour the excess water and later pour over my vegetables, flowers trees, and grass.

My Story.....
I was raised on Bacon Fat! My mother, born and raised in Arkansas, got up each morning and cooked a pound for bacon for breakfast. She poured the grease off the bacon into a 1-lb coffee can. Through out the day, at each meal, she used bacon fat to flavor "EVERYTHING" bacon drippings went into the biscuits, bacon drippings went into the gravy, bacon drippings went into the beans, bacon drippings went into the grits. Bacon fat drippings were in everything. We ate Fried potatoes for lunch and dinner, biscuits and gravy at all 3 meals. When I was 14 years old, I was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital in Long Beach, CA. with an acute appendicitis attack. The doctor said, you have to eat less red meat and I did, I was scared to death! When I was 27 years old, I was rushed to the hospital and had my gall bladder removed with 3 large stones in very dangerous places, the doctor told me I was lucky to be alive and I needed to stop eating red meat. And when I told him I don't eat red meat he said, then stop eating all flesh! And I Stopped eating Chicken, but still ate fish. A few years later, I started to get sick when I ate fish. And that is my story. I have always been allergic to Eggs and Milk and milk products, I am also allergic to Soy.
And guess what, I am not a skinny pasty looking vegan like I hear about all the time...haha. Many of my friends are not unhealthy looking at all! Some people are just sickly looking for other reasons and it has nothing to do with being a vegetarian.
