INTERPRETING AMP II 

Option 1.

After a sign language assessment has been completed by Juti, your skills will be determined if you qualify for the mentoring program. Most students that have completed ASL I II, & III  are good candidates. There is always the exception to the rule so, if you think you are ready lets meet!

Option 2.

After completing Love2ASL's Accelerated Mentoring Program you will be qualified to participate in hands-on externship, mentored interpreting. This is a unique opportunity that is limited to 2-3 mentees, for a 12-week duration. Each assignment will last for 2-hrs. Payment in full prior to 1st assignment assures your commitment. When paid in full prior to the Orientation, you will receive a $50.00 Manual  free of charge.

ASSIGNMENT OPPORTUNITIES...

There are 2 separate hands on mentoring opportunities, in an real live externship interpreting assignment.

ASSIGNMENT  1), Thursday nights 

30hr, 10-WEEK, Business Meeting

ASSIGNMENT  2), Tuesday nights

32hr, 12-WEEK, DV Prevention

TUESDAY night Mentoring opportunity 6:45pm-8:45pm.

Assignment  2) Is a unique opportunity that is limited to 2-3 mentees, for a   12-week duration. Each assignment will last for 2-hrs.

Week: 1,  will be interpreter orientation and guidelines a 8-hour class, on a Saturday or Sunday as collectively agreed on.

We will review the 10-week, course materials notebook, that you will be given at the 1st meeting. You will be making notes on the pages in your notebook about, vocabulary, techniques, and ASL concepts. 

There will be no surprises because the notebook contains everything that we will need for the interpreting assignment.

The next 10-weeks, we will meet at 6:45pm-8:45pm, on site and for the first half-hour, you will meet with Dr. Seshie and review the notes for that evenings assignment and during the second half,  you will observe  Dr. Seshie interpret for 15 min and the remainder of time we will be rotating among the 2-3 mentees.

You will not be required to rotate in on the first assignment day, you may observe the first meeting, after that you will participate for at least 5-15 minutes.  You may rotate in and out as often as you need. Dr. Seshie will be there teaming with you and assisting you whenever you need.

Week: 12, we will meet debrief and lunch is on me!

We will celebrate and debrief our past 12 weeks!!! 

Unlike other mentor programs who charge $50-$150.00 an hour.

THE COST...

Plan 1) ($325.00) paid in full in advance of the orientation. You will receive the DVDs or the Manual depending on which assignment you choose.

Plan 2) ($100.00) Prepayment is transferable to the same program, however, non-refundable. The ($125.00) will be due at Orientation and the balance will be ($25.00) a week, for 6-weeks. The ($50.00) costs of materials is included in payment plan.

Due to need for extreme confidentiality, for the Tuesday night assignment, only those who register for this hands-on mentoring program, will receive the full information regarding the address and exact details of the assignment.

HANDS ON MENTORING

Accelerated Mentoring Program  is an very unique opportunity to participate in hands-on externship, mentored interpreting.

TBA: Mentored Interpreting in The Domestic Violence Prevention Personal Empowerment Program.

Unlike other mentor programs who charge $50-$150.00 an hour.

At end of the 12-week course, You will receive a Certificate of Participation for 32-hours of Mentored Interpreting.

Payment in full prior to mentoring assures your commitment to the assignment, ($325.00) when paid in advance to the Orientation includes The Professional Business Meeting interpreted by Dr. Seshie on DVD free of charge.

THE COST...

CERTIFICATES:

After completion of one of the 10 or 12-week courses, You will receive a Certificate of Participation for 30-32-hrs of Mentored Interpreter training.
