As Professional Interpreters we need to stay on top of what's new in our field. Organizations like the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and state and local chapters of RID, etc. keep us informed about new laws, changes in our profession, changes in the Deaf community and more. TerpBlasts also provides an invaluable service of announcing where and when there will be Deaf EXPOS, Deaf Nation, ASL Expos and much more.

In addition, Pat keeps her eyes and ears open for Workshops and trainings from all over California,  that will provide interpreters with  excellent  training and learning experiences.

As part of the NAD/RID/NIC certified interpreter's continuing educational  requirements, to maintain the  national  certification of a professional sign language interpreter, Pat shares an abundance of information that keeps us on top of our game.

Note for ITP students and other interested parties: Certified Interpreters, are required to earn 8 CEU's (continuing educational units) per cycle, a cycle is 4 years. Often times interpreters scurry around looking for workshops at the last minute and thanks to Pat, we are able to meet our requirement on time!
