Q: How much are the EZ2B Workshops?

Q: Do Students get a discount?
A: Yes, community college ITP students and students at Love2asl.com who have taken AMP or PEP are alumni of Love2asl.com receive a student discount.
Q: CEU's, what are they?
A: CEU's are Continuing Education Units that are used to meet the Certification requirements of RID-NAD-NIC interpreter certifications. Associate members of RID may also apply and keep track of their CEU's on a transcript maintained by RID, however, they do not apply to any future certification.
Q: CEU's, How do I apply for CEU's?
A: Prior to attending the workshop or course...send an email to Love2asl@yahoo.com and request CEU's. You will need to provide your RID Membership number.
Q: CMP, What is that?
A: CMP means Certification Maintenance Program. There are RID, CMP sponsors who review the CEU application and approve workshops and courses that provide students with CEU's. The CMP then submits the final paperwork to RID to be reviewed and approved and after the workshop the CMP send the paperwork to RID where they add the CEU's to the certified interpreter's or associates transcript.
Q: CEU's, Why is there a fee for processing CEU's?
A: RID CMP's charge a fee to submit your CEU application paperwork.
Q: How many CEU's Do I need in a cycle?
A: 8 CEU's must be earned each cylce to maintain your interpreter certification.
Q: What is a cycle?
A: A cycle is a 4 year period in which a certified interpreter must earn 8 CEU's.
Q: What happens if I do not earn 8 CEU's before my cylce ends?
A: Your certification will lapse and you will have to the NIC evaluation to become certified again.
Q: How do I know how many CEU's I have?
A: Go to www.RID.ORG, log in and check under Certificates, Transcripts. It will show you exactly how many professional and general development units you have and you need in each of the two categories.
Q: CEU's how many hours does it take to earn 1 CEU?
A: It takes ten (10) hours for each CEU.
8 CEU's is 80 hours of RID/CMP Sponsored and approved workshops, conventions, courses and seminars.
Formula:
1 hour = .01 ceu.
10 hours X .01 = 1.0. Ceu's
80 hours X .01 = 8.0 Ceu's
You must check your transcript on the RID website for how many Professional and how many General Development units you need.

ITP...Interpreter Training Program.
NAD... National Association of the Deaf.
NIC...National Interpreter Center.
RID...Registry of the Interpreter of the Deaf.
CBT...Computer Based Test, written.
CEU...Continuing Education Units.
CMP...Certification
Maintenance
Program.
LTA...Local Test Administrator of the NIC evaluation.
NIC...National Interpreter Certification, Basic, Advanced and Masters Levels.
CI/CT...No longer available. Certified Interpreter/ Certified Transliterator
SC:L... Specialist Certificate: Legal.
CDI...Certified Deaf Interpreter, Intermediary Interpreter is Deaf and works with the Hearing Interpreter.
CLIP-R...Conditional Legal Interpreting Permit, Relay.
NTS... National Testing System, is comprised of a written test and performance test. Once an interpreter passes both they become a certified interpreter.
OTC...Oral Transliteration Certification.
HOH...Hard of Hearing, not the same as old age hard of hearing.
