 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER

"The interpreter scene prior to 1964 was so vastly different from that which exists today that it is a strain on the imagination to contemplate it ... We did not work as interpreters, but rather volunteered our services as our schedules permitted. If we received any compensation it was freely given and happily accepted, but not expected." - Lou Fant, RID biographer

AMP II...WORKING MENTORING

INTERPRETING AMP II,

Is a hands on mentored training opportunity.

There are 2 separate hands on mentoring opportunities, in an real live externship interpreting assignment.

1) 30-hr, 10-WEEK, Business Meeting

2) 32-hr, 12-WEEK, DV Prevention

This Accelerated Mentoring Program  affords you an opportunity to participate in hands-on externship, mentored interpreting.

Setting 1) Go to $$$Cost$$ & Options.

Setting 2) Is a unique opportunity that is limited to 2-3 mentees, for a 12-week duration. Each assignment will last for 2-hrs.

Week: 1,  will be interpreter orientation and guidelines a 8-hour class, on a Saturday or Sunday as collectively agreed on.

We will review the 10-week, course materials notebook, that you will be given at the 1st meeting. You will be making notes on the pages in your notebook about, vocabulary, techniques, and ASL concepts.

There will be no surprises because the notebook contains everything that we will need for the interpreting assignment.

The next 10-weeks, we will meet at 6:45pm-8:45pm, on site and for the first half-hour, you will meet with Dr. Seshie and review the topic for that evenings assignment and during the second half,  you will observe  Dr. Seshie interpret for 15 min and the remainder of time we will be rotating among the 3-4-mentees. You will not be required to rotate in on the first assignment day, you may observe the first meeting, after that you will participate for at least 5-15 minutes.  You may rotate in and out as often as you need. Dr. Seshie will be there teaming with you and assisting you whenever you need.

Week: 12, we will meet debrief and eat on me!

We will celebrate and debrief our past 12 weeks!!!

Unlike other mentor programs who charge $50-$150.00 an hour.

At end of the 10-12-week course,     You will receive a Certificate of  Participation for 30-32-hours of Mentored Interpreter training.

Setting 1) *Thursday night interpreting is an on going assignment 6:00pm-9:00pm

Setting 2) *Tuesday night interpreting assignment is an on going event,  6:45p-8:45p Anaheim area, Ca.

COST:  SEE POP OUT   $$COST$$ ========>

Due to need for extreme confidentiality, for the Tuesday night assignment, only those who register for this hands-on mentoring program, will receive the full information regarding the address and exact details of the assignment.

This unique acclerated mentoring program "AMP" is very cost effective with several options to choose from. Look for the best option to fit your budget.

If you calculate $660 and divide by 36-hours, that is $18.00 an hour for top notch mentoring. AMP is not a sit and watch "me" mentoring program it's fully hands-on roleplays with Deaf guests for interaction and feedback.

Compared to other mentoring you are saving

OVER $800+ for one of the most Top Notch Mentoring Courses in Southern California, "AMP" Accelerated Mentoring Program!

You will receive One-on-One mentoring and evaluation. A life time networking and mentoring support system and an optional on the job internship mentoring.

AMP is taught in a classroom style environment and is limited to 12 participants.

Check out the Testimonies of our past AMP's and PEP's Graduate students and they will tell you they are receiving continued support and mentoring even after then have completed their courses.

Juti has been a support system for many of the students, all they way through passing their EIPA and NIC evaluation process and AMP helped set the stage of learning.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

In today's economy, we all just work way too hard for our money to not invest it wisely in selecting the best program to help advance ourselves, to be able to earn a good income as a professional sign language interpreter. And with money tight as it is, who can afford to waste money in an interpreting program that is not qualified to teach us what we need to know and help us raise our skills up to higher levels... a penny wise and a pound (dollar) foolish. You may be smart with small amounts however, be very careful about money spent on things that have no return value.
